No Gas Tanks on These Rides

Depending on what you call a motorcycle, the very first electric ride dates back to 1895, 1896 or 1911. The 1895 model is a patent application by Ogden Bolton Jr. of Canton, OH. He filed for an “electric bicycle” in September. In November of the same year, Hosea W. The consent order covers two different "super tuners." Among other things, it says Harley has to try to buy back the unsold units and destroy them. The EPA claims Harley was selling "illegal tuning devices that increase air pollution from their motorcycles." Here's a more detailed look at this order and …

Honda NC700X Long-Term Review

There seems to be a resurgence in the popularity of motorcycling as of late and while the reasons for this renewed interest in the motorsport are debatable, the fact that so many manufacturers have broken into the burgeoning entry-level market is evidence enough that more people are getting involved. Many of these new riders are people looking for a more affordable alternative to a car, or perhaps to save money in the face of ever-increasing gas prices. These practicality-minded daily …

Dual Sport- Suzuki DRZ400S Long-Term Review

Hoolaginaism: It's what riding a DRZ400 is all about. It's one of those bikes that always tends to bring out the wild side in whoever happens to be riding it. Classified as a dual-sport, it straddles the line between street and dirt elegantly but tends to lean a bit more heavily towards the dirt side. It's the second model of motorcycle that I've owned and in this long-term review we'll examine the character it's shown me over the years. While this may not be the most practical bike o …
